In all their war paint, Chiefs of the vanishing Sioux tribe. The Sioux were originally the principle tribe in Dakota. By 1851 they had lost nearly all of their land. Their last great rising was in 1876 when they challenged the Americans under their great chief Sitting Bull. Date: 1905
