The all-weather, day and night, long-range fighter - produced by the Hawker Siddeley group - is powered by two Armstrong Siddeley Sapphires (claimed as the world's most powerful jet engine). Speed, armament, and radar geat are top secret. The new Delta fighter was first flown on November 26 by Gloster's Chief Test Pilot, Squadron Leader 'Bill' Waterton, at Moreton Valence aerodrome.
