Community Listening Experiments In The Gold Coast - The moat distant village in the Gold Coast will soon be in close contact with the capital if the present experiments with community listening sets prove successful. These community listening sets are designed in the form of a kiosk, a modern-looking structure built of reinforced concrete with slatted woolen front standing same six feet high. Inside is a dry battery short wave receiving set with a specially made loudspeaker horn designed to give good audibility to a crawl of 50 people. The kiosk is switched on by a voluntary attendant for few hours during the best listening times of the day. February 12, 1952. (Photo by United Kingdom Information Service).
