In the foreground right is a large group of people, from different positions and religions. They are discussing, but only look at the shadows of the personnifications. They are in the shade of the wall. Left in the foreground of the cave is a group of scholars in the light. They also debate, but look at the personnifications and the fire pot. Two scholars try to convince people behind the wall in the light. In the background a narrow passage to the world outside the cave. Only three men have noticed and go through the passage. They are outdoor air. The print has a Latin inscription with a Bible quote and an assignment.
