Indonesia Celebrates Independence - Indonesia celebrated the fifth Anniversary of her declaration of Independence Aug 17, together with the establishment of the Indonesian Unitary State. The climax of the impressive ceremony held in front of the presidential palace, Jakarta, was the hoisting of the red and white Indonesian flag atop a specially constructed concrete mast.
