C.I.D. Investigate Sunninghill Fire -- Sunninghill Park, gutted by the fire early this morning, pictured from the air later to-day (Saturday). Berkshire C.I.D were called in to day (Saturday) to investigate a fire which started in the early hours of this morning at Sunninghill Park, the intended residence of H.R.H. princess Elizabeth and Lieut. Phillip Mountbatten, R.N. Only one wing of the 25-room building escaped the flames after hours of fighting by brigades from six Berkshire and Surry towns. The police are endeavouring to establish the cause of the fire; whether accidental, deliberately fired as a protest against restoration work going on or set on fire from political motives.
