National Stamp Exhibition Opens -- Miss Margaret Hall, Manager of H. & A. Wallace, old Board Street stamp-dealers, studies a King George VI Coronation stamp at the exhibition to-day (Monday). A national exhibition, comprising entries from philatelic societies throughout the country, was opened by Sir Robert Gower at Central Hall, Westminster, to-day (Monday). The exhibition is more for the average collector than the connoisseur; the majority of the ordinary amateur philatelist. Visitors to the exhibition, which remains open until Saturday, will have an opportunity to sign a petition, for presentation to Parliament, in favour of picturial stamps for Great Britain. March 3, 1947.
