Princess Elizabeth wore an entirely new hat creation, modelled directly from H.M. The King's own Guardman's hat which he sent to Mr. Aage Thaarup with express instructions that a hat was to be designed for Her Royal Highness which, although was to be strictly feminine, had to have the identical Guardsman's peak as the King's hat. it also had to bear the insignia of the Guards.
