'Parasite' Fighter Plane -- Mounted on a special dolly, the U.S. Air Force's new 'parasite' jet-powered fighter plane, the XF-85 (above) is ready for ground and wind tunnel tests. Plane has no landing gear and is designed to fit into the bomb bay of a B-36 from which all landings and takeoffs are made by means of a hooking mechanism.
