Penny-Sized Microphone -- The first tube microphone to be produced was exhibited recently at an exhibition of British Radio Components, held in London, England. During the exhibition of British Radio Components held recently in London, over one hundred manufacturers displayed new developments in every aspect of sound and vision radio engineering. Amongst the new equipment shown, by Tannoy Products Ltd. was this pencil-slim Tube Microphone, the head of which, as demonstrated by Miss Sheila Marstons is no larger than a penny. The user is therefore not masked by the head and there is no cable visible, as this is carried within the stand, which is blended, with the head into one entity. The total weight of head, stand and cable is 9 pounds. "Tannoy are responsible for the sound installations in such buildings as the House of Lords and the House of Coramons, London, and those of the United Nations Organisations in Paris and New York.
