Pick-A-Back Plane Nearly Wrecked - Mercury being placed on the back of the parent craft, Maia, by crane in Dundee Harbour yesterday.Mercury, the upper component of the Short-Mayo composite aircraft, which is expected to start from the River Tay today on a non-stop flight to Capetown, came perilously near being wrecked in Dundee harbour yesterday. As the Mercury was being united to the parent craft, Maia, by a crane she was caught by a gust of wind and one wing swung very close to the crane before the mechanics hauling on ropes, regained control.
