The 20 September protests were likely the largest climate strikes in world history. Organisers reported that over 4 million people participated in strikes worldwide, including 300000 people joined UK protests. Greta Thunberg, (born 3 January 2003), Swedish environmental activist, credited with raising global awareness of the risks posed by climate change, and with holding politicians to account for their lack of action on the climate crisis.
