A recent portrait of Lieutenant General Sir Brian H. Robertson, Bt., KCMG, KCVO, CB, CBE, DSO, MC., who has been appointed military Governor of the British Zone of Germany, Commander-in-Chief of the British Forces in Germany and British member of the Allied Control Council for Germany, in Succession to Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir Sholto Douglas. Lt. General Sir Brian Robertson has served as Deputy Governor and British Representative on the Co-ordinating Committee of the Allied Control Council since 1945. After serving during the first World War Sir Brian Robertson remained with the Army until 1933 when he retired to take up a business appointement on South Africa until 1939. May 7, 1950.
